Thought I'd check out Daily Kos for the 411 on things in America. And what do I find?

The state of Idaho just got the green light from the Supreme Court to uphold a ban on gender-affirming care for transgender teens. The article shows the smiling, proud face of the douchebag who backed it (here's a hint; he's White).

Opponents of this draconian law are warning that this will likely lead to many more teen suicides. That's a legitimate concern; since Covid, teens across the country have lost faith in America because of how they're constantly getting the brunt of Christian Right-wing Extremism, which surged after Republicans used the unruliness of Trump to put their fascist agendas into action. The Republicans' response to these concerns?

The same garbage of "you are who you are at birth, period, end of discussion."

It infuriates me how TRUE Christians who come together to call this bullshit out after January 6th, 2021 are STILL being called "heretics" and "spawn of Satan". I visited the site of such honest Christians this morning, and read a blog entry where the author, a humble and gracious pastor, condemned the continuing weaponization of the Bible to help Republican politicians cling to power and stoke hatred against minority groups in order to do so. That blasphemy continues indeed.

Now, more than ever, I see how the Republican Party had been biding their time through the decades, their extremism building. They never agreed to a "melting pot" country of diversity. They've always harbored White Supremacist, Christian Nationalist, Confederate-style ideals, but every President they stood with was not what they truly wanted...  not even Trump. Hell, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham were among the few who told it like it was with this quack -- that he was "an amoral narcissist" and "absolutely unfit to hold office."

The problem is that when Trump became the nominee for Election 2016, the Republicans put all of that aside. They knew how much of an uncaged force this person was, but they also knew that his volatility and full disregard for the rule of law would shield them from scrutiny while they started building the foundation for what they REALLY wanted all this time: a White Christian Fascist Theocracy, preceded by a mass culture-race war/genocide. Why else would they refuse to end the gun violence epidemic gripping the country, knowing that mass shootings are now targeting marginalized neighborhoods and cities? Why else would they suddenly be bold enough to literally use the law to ban -- to CRIMINALIZE -- the true history of America from today's youth, while at the same time rewriting that history so the White youth of today will be desensitized to the GOP-sanctioned mass violence against minorities? Why else would they gaslight those who know the truth by using derogatory words like "woke", and claiming stuff like "indoctrination"?

Actually, that last one has some truth to it: the "indoctrination", however, is coming from the Republicans themselves; they are "indoctrinating" White American children into hating all minorities and feeling desensitized, or "numb", to the violence Republicans continue to stoke towards all minorities through more draconian laws and loosening gun (particularly assault weapons) restrictions and age limits.

No, I don't think I'm being unfair or harsh at all. The facts are there. Because of Trump, the GOP was able to create Ron DeSantis, Matt Gaetz, and Marjorie Taylor Greene. They were able to overturn Roe. They were able to use more discriminatory (and often racially charged) rhetoric in their speeches for "campaigns". Red states have now abandoned state governments in favor of fundamentalist regimes (looking at you, Florida). And they were finally able to come out and say what they truly thought on the issue of gun violence, particularly assault weapon mass shootings: "We're not going to fix it. Criminals will be criminals." "We need a Christian revival in this nation." And of course, the recent -- and most simplified -- version of that sentiment: "Get over it."

I'm sick of this. I'm sick of seeing Christianity in the country sharing the same sentence with "The Great Replacement". I'm sick of Republicans dropping badly-concealed hints of their beliefs in "Manifest Destiny". I'm sick of that image of Jesus of Nazareth wearing a MAGA cap. I'm sick of seeing people in red states converting old churches into Trump shrines. I'm sick of ALL OF IT.

I have MANY transgender friends, and damned if I let ANYONE here in California threaten them. I was raised by my Mom, a REAL Christian. I'm not a hardline Christian, and though I said I was disowning Christianity, I meant the Christianity taught in America in general. I still hold some core parts of that faith, particularly service, honor, and inspiring. But I will NEVER accept the racism, bigotry, and misogyny that fuels what passes for "Christian faith" in this country. That ain't how I roll.

The article in question from which the title implied is here:

Even my mom is horrified by this. As she should be, and I'm fuming.

Where are the censors from the FCC on this? Yesterday Fani Willis was chastised for being "unprofessional" in telling her accusers what she thinks of them for putting her and loved ones in crosshairs, as well as mocking every Black American's right to be angry. She was condescended to in a court of law by a stuck-up White judge. Black Americans are required to show "decorum" in civilized settings.

Well, color this double standards, because now the Republican Party's nominee has descended into a homicidal rage. How is it right that a Black person can't civilly condemn a corrupt justice system being hijacked by White supremacists, but a former fraud of a president with no experience in politics is allowed to go on air and literally threaten the country's citizens with murder only seven months before Election 2024?

Look, if the First Amendment is sacred and all must abide by it's principles, then someone needs to silence this venomous talk. I don't care if he's rich, White, and officially in the books as an American president -- If Blacks, POCs, LGBTQ, and most of all, women, can't even civilly condemn the horrifying extremism they're facing, but Trump is SOOO special that he's exempt from ALL of this because the justice system still favors mendacious and homicidal douchebags like him, then the line must be drawn. Seriously, CHILDREN heard that trash! Does the law defend the American people or doesn't it? This is beyond unacceptable and biased to a deplorable degree.

Nowhere in the Constitution is it written that a former president has freedom to tell his own country that if he's not reinstated in the White House and crowned King of America, the nation's grounds will be soaked with blood. The ramblings on Truth (less) Social were appalling enough. But now you have a candidate for president DIRECTLY threatening the whole country that millions will literally be massacred if the election isn't handed to him right now. The whole country, as in, EVERYONE -- even his supporters. What, the government thinks Trump cares about his supporters? Dude, they're just tools to him at this point. They've said things like dying for him to defend the country. He's basically marching them to their deaths as well!

Come on, man. This is NOT politics anymore. This isn't even campaigning. If the censorship laws in America are to remain credible in the interest of public safety, then Trump should no longer be allowed to speak in public or on the air. The children in America will have nightmares tonight. They're already traumatized from the mass violence they see in their own schools and neighborhoods. Doesn't this country care about their future? I thought children were the "hopes and dreams and trailblazers of tomorrow"? Well, if stuff like "bloodbaths" is uttered from someone of status who means to "lead" this country, censor the HELL out of it. Do NOT be complicit in this, FCC. His murderous threat applies to YOU, too.

If this is allowed to continue, free speech in America will die. As of right now, Trump and the MAGA domestic terrorist organization have effectively already issued a death sentence to every American soul on this hallowed soil. If anybody is to have any semblance of safety in this country from now to November, then this rhetoric has to either stop or be censored. Better yet, it shouldn't be broadcasted AT ALL. Allowing this to continue means the government is okay with letting Americans fear for their very lives every day from here on in. And this is the same government that declared White Supremacist terrorism the greatest domestic threat to the nation. If that is the case, then my message to the government and the FCC is this: refuse to air any more coverage of Trump rallies. Think of the children ESPECIALLY; do you want to be scared to even step outside more than they already do?

Stop this madness RIGHT NOW... or lose your credibility forever. This unprecedented terrorism stoked by a former president should be met with an unprecedented response. This is not the time for "we need to approach this carefully." That ship sailed four years ago. In the interest of protecting American democracy, preserving the People's mental health, and most of all, SAFETY, then for God's sake, ACT. RIGHT NOW.

THE LINE HAS BEEN CROSSED. This is your obligation, so freakin' OWN IT.

The Facts.

Christianity is a religion, not a law. Christian Nationalism is NOT a religion OR a law. Again, Christianity is a religion; Christian Nationalism is terrorism fueled by hate and ignorance.

Reformed Christian Nationalists have come to admit these simple truths. Many of them abandoned this vile ideology of their own will.

A certain Black musician succeeded (and is STILL succeeding) in pulling MANY manipulated White Americans out of Christofascist hate groups.

The Meek will inherit the Earth. Humanity and dignity are FAR better embodiments of strength than guns and bullets, and hiding the truth out of fear of discomfort.

Oh, and another thing? Christian Nationalism and Al-Qaeda are cut from the same cloth. Both weaponize religion to justify unspeakable crimes against humanity

Peace and love to you all.

I was thinking about my little cousin who teaches 2nd grade, and how he was explaining to me and my other cousins about the conflicts between his White students and his Muslim students over religious ideals during our family Thanksgiving gathering. The White students didn't want to learn about Islam and Allah because in their minds, "Allah" wasn't the "one God" and thus a false idol. It was really saddening as he delved into the obvious implications of cancel culture, as well as this asinine agenda by right-wing Republicans to ban books they find "inappropriate" (read: exposing) to White children to prevent them from "indoctrination" and "feeling guilty of their White heritage". And right now, it's looking like the era of Seduction of the Innocent again, with any books covering race, gender identity, the blood this country was founded on, and African slavery brutality that literally BUILT this country being fed to flames in some states (a video surfaced of a White man using a flamethrower to roast banned, "woke" books. How about that.).

Obviously you can see where I'm going with this. Jazz Nevermore's new Strange Pixels DW webcomic covers the current disagreements covering AI art, but in a way that aims to educate, not to divide. Very much like Matt Zimmer's Gilda and Meek and the Un-Iverse, I think everyone should give this a read, if only for the fact that it opens eyes, and opens minds.

This relentless effort to erase what doesn't qualify as White supremacy and preservation in the name of "Christianity" from school and library shelves is in reality nothing more than an effort to aid in right-wing plans to turn this entire nation into a White nationalist autocracy/personality cult for Trump, whom the Republicans see as their REAL God (it's true; MTG literally likened him to Jesus, and when Pence ran for President, he was called a treasonous Judas. That's saying something.), despite what they want us to believe. To add to the hypocrisy, their argument that these "woke" books are "inappropriate" because of things like violence, murder, incest, and infanticide... well, an article on IowaCapitalDispatch.com put it plainly, saying the The Holy Bible, which is shoved in people's faces nearly every day as the definition of holiness, actually covers ALL of that, and has been used (and still IS being used) to justify atrocities past and current. It's the Republican right-wing saying that students of the new generation shouldn't be free to learn and be open-minded because stuffy White "Christian" old-timers believe these young scholars must accept the status quo so they themselves can keep running the joint as they're afraid of change... hence the concept of their version of "conservativism". And the worst part of is, MANY students -- White students included -- see right through the facade and are calling out the stuffy old ones for this attack on their education. It's been more than two centuries, and Republicans still don't understand the concept of separation of church and state.

Jazz and Matt, good on you for taking the fight to this bullshit crusade. People need to wake the hell up.
