Kamala Harris just keeps rackin' em UP! Apparently another ally has joined the surrogates, and it's a real SHOCKER -- Caroline Rose Giuliani, daughter of disgraced former "America's Mayor" Rudy Giuliani, has joined the coalition. But it's Caroline's reasoning behind her decision to endorse that hits so hard.

I've read a lot of stories about families -- closely bonded families AND friendships -- that all went to Hell after Donald Trump happened. And these stories were terrifying; I can't fathom how someone as insignificant and worthless as Trump could wreak such damage across the most sacred of interpersonal relationships. So a recent article on Vanity Fair, written by Caroline herself, spoke to me quite viscerally.

Here are some of the most striking quotes I found in Caroline's Vanity Fair article:

"If the president isn’t going to be subject to the law like every other citizen, which remains incomprehensible to me, then our president had better have a moral compass. A 34-time convicted felon who’s been found liable for sexual abuse, tries to steal elections, and demeans people based on their race, sexuality, disability status, and gender falls remarkably short of the bar we must set for ourselves as a country.

"A democracy by definition cannot be fixed or calcified. It must have the flexibility to change according to the wishes of its people, not the despotic dreams of one.

"I am also voting for Harris because she is the only candidate who cares about my rights as a woman. The reversal of Roe v Wade was a shocking and horrifying “accomplishment” of Trump’s that has already resulted in the unforgivable and unnecessary deaths of innocent women like Amber Nicole Thurman. Seeing Republican state officials enact draconian abortion bans and threaten fertility care is incredibly personal for me.

"We live at a crossroads in history, where the future of not only our democracy but our planet is at stake. Trump’s first-term position on the Climate Crisis was to call it a hoax while stripping away climate regulations and giving the fossil fuel industry everything they wanted and more.

"Take it from me, Trump destroys everything he touches. I saw it happen to my family. Don’t let it happen to yours, or to our country."

Caroline also goes into painful, heartbreaking detail about her relationship to her dad, Rudy -- though the rest of us know all about his fall from grace, Caroline obviously felt the pain on a much deeper level. At one point in the article, Caroline describes her final, most heartbreaking plea to her dad to reject the opportunity to be Trump's attorney... only for Rudy to take up the job anyway the following day. As the quote above implies, Caroline, in a way, has directly and contemptuously charged Trump with the "death" of Rudy Giuliani; she loves her dad dearly... but her dad isn't her dad anymore.

This is frightening, the account of the daughter of the most disgraced mayor in American history -- which is compounded by the recently unsealed report from Judge Chutkan detailing in STARK DETAIL damning evidence of Trump's actions to deny the results of the 2020 election, leading to the assault on democracy on January 6th, 2021 which led to nine people dying and more than a thousand Capital police officers being brutalized and forever changed.

Yup, and the Harris-Walz campaign also launched a new ad, taking full advantage of yesterday's vice presidential debate where JD Vance went and full up pretended that Jan. 6 didn't even happen and chose to attack Harris on the grounds of some kind of "censorship"...

We're Not Going Back. Harris-Walz for 2024.

This morning, as I arrived at work (30 minutes before opening time, as usual), I noticed a poster from our Black History Month banners. The quote included in the poster perfectly explains a point I've been trying to put into words for a good long time now. It's a quote from His Excellency, Nelson Mandela -- the champion who honorably opposed the brutal apartheid regime in South Africa. The quote goes as follows:

"No one is born hating another person because of the colour of their skin, or his background or his religion. People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."

MLK also said,

"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too much a burden to bear."

There you have it, friends. Spite, especially in the form of racism, is not ordained by any sacred text, and no horseshit like "Manifest Destiny" justifies any actions based on the idea. Hatred is something that is taught and LEARNED, and therefore that hatred is of the hater's own creation and actions. If people are dishing out hate towards minorities/marginalized people, they should really look inside and understand that they weren't born with the hate. It was passed down and taught to them by their ancestors, and ancestors before theirs.

Racial hatred is ALL on the racist one's choice. We have free will, and therefore we are responsible for our own actions, full stop. If you choose to lay waste to an entire country, that's on you. If you choose to rebel against your own government because of some infantile feeling of "entitlement to the throne" or whatever, that's on you.

Finger pointing does nothing. Owning up to one's mistakes, on the other hand, does wonders.

EDIT: And while we're at it, let it be known that race is a social construct. It isn't biological. According to one particular source, "race" was conceived by the ideas of two men, Carl Linnaeus and Georges Cuvier (both White), to justify the Atlantic Slave Trade during the era of Colonialism. It's a fact that stuff like book bans are STILL trying to rewrite to this day, in a time where racist individuals in our government feel their so-called "privilege" is being threatened (which it never was -- they've ALWAYS had the privilege and advantage. This is a scorn for people this group hates on that basis alone.).

"Do you know how many... rebellions... I've put down? How many worlds I've conquered? How many Avengers I've killed?! And you think you can beat me? I AM KANG!"

"And I am Lady Justice, 'Conqueror'. You yourself have been conquered... by the rule of law."

Guys and gals, Kang the Conqueror -- a.k.a. Jonathan Majors -- just got convicted in a major court case: he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. He's to be sentenced on February 6th and is looking at a possible jail sentence of up to one year. Apparently there was even footage of Majors attacking Jabarri, as Associated Press reported - and she broke down in tears as the footage was played for the court to witness. As a result, Majors has been dropped from Marvel Studios. The Kang Dynasty -- and the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe -- is effectively derailed... and dead.

Kevin Feige, we barely knew ye. Don't let the exit doors of Avengers Tower hit you on the way out. ๐Ÿ™„

As I was wrapping up work today, I checked both my business e-mail and my personal e-mail. Upon closing my personal e-mail inbox, I was greeted with an unexpected news update on Yahoo!: Three days before the Unites States would face a government shutdown, current House Speaker and MAGA Republican Mike Johnson compromised with Senator Hakeem Jeffries and the Democrats to prevent the catastrophic default that would put government workers and the military into modern-day slavery, working for free. And that’s to say nothing of the long-term ramifications that would follow. Now, I don’t know how long this compromise will last, as I haven’t read all the details. But this deal recalls a film that I personally think couldn’t be more significant than now. Below is an essay of my thoughts on all of this.

As a child, I was always a fan of Star Trek. My first glimpse of it was a random episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The odd-looking USS Enterprise-D going into warp captivated me, and I was hooked for the whole episode; I didn’t know what the hell was going on, but I was enthralled. As I got older, I recall a plane trip where my dad read a pamphlet to me about the Star Trek Original Series films, starring a guy called Captain Kirk. I was intrigued, as I only knew of a Captain Picard. As he read, he told me about another guy simply called Spock. There was no image, so I didn’t see his face until elementary when Dad had rented the first Star Trek film I saw, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Now, admittedly, this film was pretty much a whack job, but at the time I thought it was cool. Then, in around 3rd grade I believe, I went to a birthday party sleepover where the birthday boy played the movie my dad spoke of back on that plane trip: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. I was too young to understand the plot of the film, and soon dozed off (as I slept, I learned that after the film finished, my friend then put on the Arnold Schwarzenegger Predator film – and a few partygoers had nightmares the whole evening. I was spared, I guess).

I didn’t get another chance to see this film again until college, around when I was working my first job. Perhaps coincidentally, this around 2007, when Barack Obama was approaching the White House. He was campaigning on a single word: Change. And he had indeed “fired up” supporters of that campaign – voters who were displeased with the outgoing President George W. Bush’s “War on Terror” debacle that cost American and Iraqi lives and failed to net Osama bin Laden (whom Obama would take out in just 3 years while Bush couldn’t do it in eight). The contender was John McCain, who made quite a few blunders – “Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bomb, bomb Iran”, referring to his opponent as “that one” during the first presidential debate. Speaker John Boehner at the time was convinced the “inexperienced” Obama would fail. “Hell no, you can’t!” he threatened. And in response, Obama fired back: “Yes, we can.” And he did. We did.

One day I bought a DVD copy of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and, since I had the day off from work, watched it in full from start to finish. After the credits ended, I saw that this film couldn’t have come to me at a better time. Of the Original Series films, it and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan are my favorites.

To me, the film encompassed the kind of mentality that this nation had back then as far as the future, when a new unknown was at hand. The country’s first Black President was now in the Oval Office. John McCain, for all his faults back then, gave a very honorable concession speech; though his voters were furious, he was able to calm the crowd and get them to face reality (I won’t say anything about Sarah Palin. The less this country sees of her, the better). Change was now in effect, and I was very hopeful. Hope, by the way, was another big word Obama campaigned on.

But then came the final year of his second term. The optimism I had for the country was somewhat stymied by the emergence of a person who obviously sought to undo everything Obama did. During the GOP debates, all the other candidates looked at this fool and called foul right off the bat: “He is an amoral narcissist!” “Absolutely unfit for office.”, they said. But somehow the guy stole his way into the Oval Office. Obama campaigned on change. But this guy? He campaigned on populism, on White supremacy. And he put it into effect on Day 1, saying he would “end the carnage” and make the nation “great” again, an obvious allusion to Reagan’s “great” quest, which itself was indicative of the days of the Confederacy. For the next four years, systemic racism flourished, hate crimes surged, and marginalized groups (and students) were targeted in mass shootings, some of them the worst for these marginalized groups in this country. And of course, the breaking point was the execution of unarmed George Floyd in the worst way possible. America was literally hell for anyone except Whites, and even then, if one was White, they had to be on board with the populist agenda. And what did the Turd-in-Chief do through all of this? Blame the Democrats, blame the “fake news media”, blame the “Russia hoax” (He shamefully used the Stoneman Douglass Parkland School shooting to divert attention from the investigation into his illicit election through Twitter. Twitter!). Completely irresponsible, but then again, he never cared anyway. He was too busy ruling with an iron fist.

As this fool’s term was ending, a pandemic ravaged the nation – a pandemic he chose to ignore because he was more concerned about how to steal the next election. Not even the Turd himself contracting Covid-19 was enough to knock him off his high horse. When the election approached, the lies started spreading (“vote twice if you have to!”), and there was an endorsement of a domestic terrorist group as an obvious fall back in case lies weren’t enough. All of this ended up in the ultimate disgrace: the nation had seen its first treasonous incumbent President defy the Constitution that swore him into the White House. A coup d’état, based on a lie to keep a fascist dictator wannabe in power for God knows how long. And I wasn’t shocked. I saw this coming. But I was sad, and a word did slip past my lips: “Why…?”

Now, I look back at Star Trek VI, and I understand why. I understand why it happened, and why it’s so important to me now. All of this happened because of a crusade to undo Obama’s accomplishments. To undo the change he had set in motion.

In The Undiscovered Country, we see the Federation of United Planets seeking to cease all hostilities with the Klingon Empire after the Klingon’s moon Praxis explodes, consequently posing an extinction risk to their race. Both sides want peace; Chancellor Gorkon of the Klingon High Council leads the peace summit, and the Federation President, with Captain Spock as his envoy, arranges to host the summit. But forces on each side also believe this to be problematic; Captain Kirk is still bitter about his son David’s murder at the hands of the Klingons in the past, and Gorkon’s Chief of Staff, General Chang, is suspiciously coy about the whole idea. When Gorkon is suddenly assassinated after a dinner between Klingons and the USS Enterprise crew, Kirk and medical officer Leonard McCoy find themselves with blood on their hands; Gorkon was assassinated by Starfleet crewmembers while Enterprise had fired on Gorkon’s personal ship, Kronos One. The two are arrested, and a rift is driven between the two sides. Gorkon’s daughter, Azetbur, is subsequently named Chancellor in his place, and though she wants Kirk and McCoy put on trial and punished, she still wants the peace conference to go forward despite her people’s pleas for war; she puts it to them bluntly: “War is obsolete… as we are in danger of becoming.”

Eventually, Kirk and McCoy escape from prison, and the true conspirators of the assassination are revealed: Gorkon was murdered by Starfleet crewmen under the orders of a Vulcan named Valeris, who herself was on orders by Federation officers conspiring with rogue Klingons to prevent the peace summit from reaching its conclusion. Basically, these rogues would rather keep killing each other than live in harmony. General Chang tries to hold off Kirk and the Enterprise crew in a space battle while Federation officer Colonel West, disguised as a Klingon, attempts to assassinate the Federation President. The conspiratorial murder is foiled however, and both corrupt Starfleet and Klingon officers are arrested. Chancellor Aztebur demands an explanation for the commotion, and Kirk explains it to her: “Some people think the future means the end of history, but we haven’t run of history yet. Your father called the future ‘The Undiscovered Country’. People can be very frightened of change.” Azetbur accepts Kirk, who accepts her in return, both believing their lost loved ones’ (Gorkon and David, respectively) faiths have been restored. And at long last, the Federation and the Klingon Empire achieved peace. And peace has always been a central theme of Star Trek from the beginning.

Which brings us back to now. America is a mess, to put it bluntly. One political party wants to move forward, the other wants to move backward. One believes in peaceful diplomacy, the other believes in fascist extremism. And at the center of it all is what Captain Kirk explained to Chancellor Azetbur; one side wants change, the other doesn’t. Looking at American history, it's clear as day that both left and right have extremist factions. But it’s also as clear as day the bulk of extremism stems from the right wing. One need to look no further than Jan. 6, 2021, because the first American coup d’état -- one in which many people died; a majority of them trying to protect American democracy than undermine it -- was staged by the far-right-wing arm of the Republican Party, itself under the control of an unhinged, power-mad despot with delusions of grandeur. And why? It all goes back to the reason for this madman’s campaign back in 2015. He ran to undo Obama’s goal. He ran to undo what his right-wing sycophants wanted undone, what they were afraid of, and are still afraid of. He ran to undo change. And now, he wants to run to kill the other theme Obama campaigned on. He wants to kill hope for a better union, a better America.

I hope all the remaining free-minded citizens in this country can stand up and fight this reprehensible fascist agenda from becoming reality. In all honesty, this is an insult to the Founding Fathers and a literal desecration of the Constitution that binds America together. The United States still stands as the world’s oldest democracy – about 200 years, two centuries – and it cannot be dismantled by the carnal aspirations of an unintelligent, illiterate turd-dunce with a God complex. That is the worst fate a democracy as old as this can suffer. 2024 will be America’s most significant year to date. Let’s make sure it survives.

I heard somewhere that Poland has ousted their extremist right-wing government in an election marked by a MASSIVE turnout. This is proof that autocracy can be dismantled and slain like a dragon. Still going silent on the news, but this does make me hopeful for 2024 here. We're not an autocracy -- we were from 2016 to 2020 (and sweet Lord Almighty, was it disgustingly vile), but never again. The Psuedo-Hitler was kicked out, and will NEVER return. No, not when a HUGE majority of American citizens overall DESPISE him.

I am no longer an "American Christian", and after recent events, I don't really wanna stand and "preach" some more... but I gotta say one last thing for the day. I wanna give a shout-out to a real Natural_Beauty: she goes by "Lady Jess" on Comic Fury. This is also a shout-out to my soul brothas Matt Zimmer and Jazz Nevermore, without whom I would not be the stronger dude I am today.

Nah, man... turn off that organ. And ladies, kill the choir. This ain't church, this is Dreamwidth. I don't need any of that. I just need some eager ears.

Good. A'ight, now. Recently, America lost a trailblazer and the oldest female Senator in American history: the late and great Dianne Feinstein. She hails from my 'hood, a former Mayor of San Francisco, California. She will lie in state this Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023.

Naturally though, while the nation is in mourning, the MAGA numb-nutsacks out there as singing praises. She was anti-assault weapons all the way, and that made her a sworn mortal enemy of this pathetic minority of death-worshipping dipshits.

Lady Jess responded to my lamentations on this heartless derision from the right wing. She said that she recently received the newest copy of TIME Magazine. The thing is, the magazine had the face of another numb-nutsack, the all time king of baseless hypocrisy in social media and apparent apartheid fraternizer Elon Musk. She did what any sensible person these days would do with that mag: chucked it in the trash. I immediately responded with this statement, which I present to all, even those who don't know me, 'cuz I will not stay silent anymore. A wise 80-year old man said: "Silence is complicity." And man, is silence a damning thing these days more than ever. My response:

"That's the way, Milady. โœŠ๐Ÿพ

I wanna apologize for the... *ahem*... intensity of this post, it's not how I normally talk. It's just that it infuriates me to no end when it's abundantly clear in any government at any time that dehumanization of those who don't meet the "select hierarchy" takes precedence over fighting for basic human rights for all. That kind of ideology has sparked genocides in the past, like the 1994 Rwandan Genocide in East Africa. I read the books about it, and I'm still horrified that any human could even conceive to push such a narrative -- and by propagandizing it through mainstream media, much like the right-wing is doing in America now, and we've all seen the results.

What really troubles me is your statement about trashing that TIME magazine. That is another part of the problem -- all of mainstream media is giving people who preach this hatred and bloodlust a voice. On online forums -- Comic Fury forums included -- there is a creed that the general community goes by. That is creed is often worded as, "don't feed the trolls". We learn in high school that bullies do what they do because they crave attention. Without the attention, they lose their power and their influence.

Knowing that, I can't for the life of me understand why all mainstream news outlets (CNN and MSNBC are guilty in this too) give these jerkwads airtime or space in their other media. Just on Friday I watched a CNN anchor futilely try to get a Florida politician to clearly condemn Trump's call for Gen. Mark Milley to die by hanging simply because he didn't agree with who I've dubbed the "Turd-in-Chief" on some issue with China. The guy refused to do so, and even tried to pull the typical whataboutism on Democrats. Seriously? When was the last time a Democrat called for a Republican or even one of their own to be killed for something so stupid? When was the last time a Democrat contested an election with violence that killed five of the nation's own top police officers? Why wouldn't the guy address that logic?

Because it's not a matter of he wouldn't. He couldn't. Anyone with even half a brain can put two and two together here. The bully mentality that thrives on attention is clearly at play here, and in the most dangerous way possible. The politician couldn't condemn the threat because if he did, then he too would be put in the crosshairs. That's how it's been working ever since January 7th, 2021 -- defy the bully, or in this case, in the GOP's own words, the Leader, and you will pay... most likely with your life.

President Biden said it perfectly in his address to Arizona to honor the late John McCain, particularly after trashing Trump for his "Hang Mark Milley!" threat, and even made it personal when he condemned Mr. 45's trash-talking about the military he callously accused Obama of disgracing by telling him to his face: "Listen, Mr. 'America's Favorite President'. You don't get to be raised in this country, escape enrollment in the military based on phony excuses, then become Commander-in-chief and dehumanize American warriors who died for your ass. You, who lack government AND military experience, don't get to talk shit about a prisoner of war, a war you never served in. You, who have never served, don't get to decide who in the military dies for treason, when you yourself committed such on January 6th, 2021. And most of all: You have no damn right to diss my son Beau as a sucker and loser, when you faced a global health crisis in Covid-19, even got infected with it -- and ultimately RAN AWAY from your job to 'fix it' in favor of plotting to stay in power and rule as an autocrat... and an illegitimate and immature one at that. You are the only "sucker and loser" here, in every sense of the word. You're a coward, shaking and sweating under your fake blonde toupee because your glory train is on a collision course. You'd best stop the ride, or the crash will come much sooner than you think."

I strongly believe that it's MAGA itself that has the death wish, and come November 2024, that death will arrive on swift wings. America has had enough."

So, there you go. After nearly being screwed by the nation's mental health system and yet finally starting therapy with a therapist who himself believe the system is broken, being singled out for discrimination and refusal of admission by skin color and mental disability at a nightclub in front of my pals by a cocky-ass bowler hat-wearing White guy three Fridays ago (ironically, the club had Black female bartenders), and finally tearing some new assholes (as my buddy Matt so eloquently put it) into a punk-ass bitch on Comic Fury who brought his 4chan bullshit to a hardworking enthusiastic artist's webcomic page to toot his cobweb-clogged horn, I am done with standing by and letting ignorance rape this society, this city, this nation up the wazoo. At the end of last year, I was sickened to see that MAGA fucktards were patrolling polls in many states decked out in their usual gung-ho tactical gear and obligatory AR-15's. Malcolm X was right, to me, this is gonna be the definitive "Ballot or the Bullet" Presidential Election. And I already know who's coming out on top and who's gonna crash and burn. The Turd-in-Chief overplayed his meaty, lumpy orange hand by stupidly letting slip his guilt and his autocratic intentions. You gotta be a flippin' dumbass to broadcast an autocratic agenda, and name it "Agenda 47" to add insult to injury -- geez, for fuck's sake, now you're declaring an electoral victory more than a year from now? What the hell have you been snorting? He's obviously so stupid he had to lie about a lie to cover up a lie and rinse and repeat like 20 times, which always equals a collapsing house of lies.

He fucked up, and all he can do now is stoke fear and call for assassination after assassination. For God's sake,
now his punk-ass is decreeing that all of mainstream media reporters be hanged for treason. Guess his sugar high just spiked from all those damn Cherry Cokes. His head's obviously caving in from the fat of all those pizzas and cheeseburgers.

People, there's no need to even worry about this guy becoming President again. Even if lawyers are too cowardly to invoke the 14th Amendment and this dipshit tries another Jan. 6, remember: He's not President anymore. The only army he'll have is a fringe bunch of rag-tags hillbillies with AR-15's and tactical gear. Countless Proud Boys and Oath Keepers (including their leaders) are quite sealed off from his rallying cries now -- languishing in prison where they should've been years ago. He and his redneck rebels will be facing the
entire fucking American Armed Forces, commanded by none other than the father of a so-called "sucker and loser". And when all is said and done, the mantle of "sucker and loser" will be placed unceremoniously on the head of the man who will be remembered in world history as America's first (and hopefully only) failed autocrat. He will then writhe in obscurity until his last breath and let me say this: his remains will not be buried among the other American presidents who upheld their Oath of Office. They will be buried at sea, hopefully alongside those of Osama bin Laden.

We are on the side of life, MAGA isn't. And after November 2024, that crusade will die a swift death. To close, I will paraphrase Morpheus from the Matrix film franchise.

This is America -- and we are not afraid.

Peace and love to you all.

-- J.D.

Before anybody takes a look at the following link, a word:

I am not a vengeful person. And I swear to God, as much as I hate those who dehumanize others, I will NEVER take up arms against someone. Nope, screw enlisting the Armed Forces, my mental trauma state can't handle it. Plus, I've held a gun before. Those bricks are heavy. I wouldn't last 2 seconds on the battlefield.

But I also do not believe in being a bystander. I recently saw people giving some disabled folks hell for not being "efficient enough". I may not be physically disabled, but damn, I am MENTALLY disabled. Childhood trauma does that to a person. So when I see people condescending to a handicapped person, I take issue with that. Only stupid-ass ignoramuses get off doing that. But get 'em in a corner? Not so tough now, are they? Didn't think so.

Browsing the web last night, I came across a familiar story. However, I didn't know the full circumstances that led to the main conflict. But I am proud to say that this is what I like to see when ignorant people think they automatically own the narrative. I saw it high school with arrogant bullies who bit off more than they could chew. But this was a display of righteous indignation that, had it happened in Minnesota in 2020, and the cops were unarmed, maybe George Floyd would still be alive. Wishful thinking, yes -- but at least it would've made a statement.

I know there's some history behind what started the conflict in question, but for now I can sleep knowing people like me and in other marginalized groups aren't always alone.

And the photo in the article nodding to that pivotal scene in Avengers: Endgame pretty much serves as the cherry on top. GREAT Photoshopping there. ๐Ÿคฃ

Dreamwitdh Friends, check this story out.

'Night, everyone.

EDIT: The story about Devonna Taylor that is mentioned in this article represents a case that will start in October, next week. Hopefully the shit-bag who killed her is convicted, 'cause I really don't wanna hear that "Stand Your Ground" bullshit. Even by it's own standards, it doesn't apply here by a long shot. It was an intentional murder committed with racist intentions. There's a reason why Stevie Wonder revoked Florida of his blessings.

EDIT #2: Wait... "woke" books are being banned across the nation right now... and FUCKING MIKE LINDELL IS STILL ALLOWED TO RUN TV ADS PROMOTING MYPILLOWS? What the actual FUCK?! You know wut?  I gotta get some sleep. 'Night everyone.
