Before anybody takes a look at the following link, a word:
I am not a vengeful person. And I swear to God, as much as I hate those who dehumanize others, I will NEVER take up arms against someone. Nope, screw enlisting the Armed Forces, my mental trauma state can't handle it. Plus, I've held a gun before. Those bricks are heavy. I wouldn't last 2 seconds on the battlefield.
But I also do not believe in being a bystander. I recently saw people giving some disabled folks hell for not being "efficient enough". I may not be physically disabled, but damn, I am MENTALLY disabled. Childhood trauma does that to a person. So when I see people condescending to a handicapped person, I take issue with that. Only stupid-ass ignoramuses get off doing that. But get 'em in a corner? Not so tough now, are they? Didn't think so.
Browsing the web last night, I came across a familiar story. However, I didn't know the full circumstances that led to the main conflict. But I am proud to say that this is what I like to see when ignorant people think they automatically own the narrative. I saw it high school with arrogant bullies who bit off more than they could chew. But this was a display of righteous indignation that, had it happened in Minnesota in 2020, and the cops were unarmed, maybe George Floyd would still be alive. Wishful thinking, yes -- but at least it would've made a statement.
I know there's some history behind what started the conflict in question, but for now I can sleep knowing people like me and in other marginalized groups aren't always alone.
And the photo in the article nodding to that pivotal scene in Avengers: Endgame pretty much serves as the cherry on top. GREAT Photoshopping there. 🤣
Dreamwitdh Friends, check this story out.
'Night, everyone.
EDIT: The story about Devonna Taylor that is mentioned in this article represents a case that will start in October, next week. Hopefully the shit-bag who killed her is convicted, 'cause I really don't wanna hear that "Stand Your Ground" bullshit. Even by it's own standards, it doesn't apply here by a long shot. It was an intentional murder committed with racist intentions. There's a reason why Stevie Wonder revoked Florida of his blessings.
EDIT #2: Wait... "woke" books are being banned across the nation right now... and FUCKING MIKE LINDELL IS STILL ALLOWED TO RUN TV ADS PROMOTING MYPILLOWS? What the actual FUCK?! You know wut? I gotta get some sleep. 'Night everyone.
