jasonderoga86: The O.G. Lil' Hero Artist (Default)
So I read the latest entry in Jazz Nevermore's The Musings of Andromeda Jane on Comic Fury, and it got me thinking real hard again. Here's the link:

And here was my immediate response (though I later heavily edited it on Comic Fury to avoid potential backlash):

"Wow, Jazz! =) Interesting that this comes up right after me reading your post (and reply) on this very topic on DW! Gotta admit, though I believe in God, I sometimes ask myself this very same question. Also, I wonder: why is it that those who fight for humanity and the greater good (though not at their own expense) seem to die off so early or at the worst of times (like some of the good people we've lost recently; Paul Reubens, Tina Turner, Sinéad O'Connor, etc.) and yet the ones doing unforgivable things every day (TFG, Putin, insert random dictator's name here) are still around, free as a bird, and doing things like killing the Earth with WMD's? I'm not saying anyone should die -- I'm not like that, it's not my place to say. But I don't think it's a fair balance, and it sometimes shakes my own faith in humanity. Just saying..."

I'm only asking this after the onslaught of news blabbing about the inhumane actions of fanatics out there in power (religious or not) advancing in destroying lives and our whole flippin' planet for their own personal (and often financial) gains while many great people in history who made waves in fighting injustice are vanishing one after another, and that their contributions to humanity and the greater good are actually being rolled back by the aforementioned fanatics. I don't wanna say I'm growing numb to all this, just that it admittedly makes me somewhat doubtful of the course of humanity.

But I do believe one thing: Humans were never created for the sole purpose of slaughtering each other 'till the end of the world. That's a fact.
